Again, the Flying Doctors headed to Tierra Colorada, Guatemala to provide medical and dental relief to the indigenous people of the region, the Mayan Indians. Many of last year’s participants returned along with several “1st timers.”
Using last year’s experience we were able to hit the ground running getting the clinic up and running in short order thanks greatly to the hard work of the medical students of director and co-ordinator, Dr. Ariadna Cifuentes MD.
Over 1,500 patients were seen by all the medical and dental departments with 2,300 services provided. The dentistry provided this year was limited but it did not lessen the appreciation shown to us.
