Dr Werts and Dr Yang are proud to be able to offer the current advances in digital dentistry to their practice:
3 D Imaging CBCT (Cone Beam Computerized Tomography)
Rather than sending our patients off to an Imaging Laboratory we now offer this same technology in our office. This adds great convenience and saves time for both our patients and us. This technology is a vital part of all implant practices to ensure the highest levels of precision and safety.
In addition, we are finding a tremendous increase in our ability to reach correct diagnoses. Previously, patients would have symptoms for problems which we could not identify with conventional 2D imaging. With the 3rd dimension now available, much greater accuracy is now possible for identification of the causes for the problems.
Digital Scanning
Rather than goopy mouthfuls of impression materials which can be extremely unpleasant especially for patients with strong gag reflexes, we are now able to capture oral conditions and the preparations for restorative work digitally. Rapid image taking, approximately a couple thousand in just a few minutes, are stitched together on the computer, to be electronically sent to the dental laboratories for 3D printing. From there additional computers design and mill out the final restorations. This saves time and increases accuracy by removing several steps along the way from start to finish.
There are still times for specific cases where an analog approach using impression materials is preferred but these have been dramatically reduced.
