Our practice philosophy is to identify a conservative approach, one that utilizes minimally invasive principles and techniques.
We embrace the conservative concept of “biomimetic dentistry,” also known as minimally invasive dentistry, which focuses on tissue preservation over tissue destruction to achieve a desired goal. The introduction and evolution of predictable adhesive technologies has led to a giant leap forward in implementing this style of dentistry. The newest composite and ceramic materials can frequently restore teeth predictably, and with good longevity anticipated, without the invasive destruction of tooth structure that conventional full coverage crowns would entail. This frequently results in a lower overall cost of care.

Enhanced Healing
Our office utilizes Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) / Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) for many implant, oral surgery, and periodontal procedures. Utilizing a small sample of the patient’s own blood, this therapy can enhance hard and soft tissue grafting procedures. Not only does the treatment reduce healing times, but it also decreases pain and swelling and improves overall patient experience. Learn More.
Periodontics
Dr Werts has trained for and incorporated laser Periodontal Therapy into the office—
- LANAP® (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure)
- LAPIP™ (Laser Assisted Peri-Implant Procedure), and
- LAR™ (Laser Assisted Regeneration)
The LANAP protocol is a comprehensive, regenerative approach designed to treat moderate to severe gum disease and “hopeless teeth” using a machine called the PerioLase MVP-7™. This is the only protocol with FDA clearance for True Regeneration™ resulting in true regeneration of the attachment apparatus with new cementum, new periodontal ligament and new alveolar bone on a previously diseased root surface.
The protocol:
- Targets diseased tissue while leaving native tissue intact
- Maintains Crestal Tissue Height
- Creates a clean, sealed, enclosed environment for wound healing and true regeneration
For the patients this means:
- No incisions, no suturing
- Less pain, less bleeding, and less swelling
- Minimal Crestal tissue loss and less sensitivity
- Faster post-op recovery
- Restoration of functional dentition
The LAPIP protocol involves the same principles but with some minor variations they can be applied to failing implants with peri-implantitus and peri-implant mucositus. Although proper diagnosis and case selection are still necessary, this protocol has proven itself for bone regrowth around implants and offers Hope for Hopeless Implants™.
